ABOUT MICHAEL GRAHAM There was never a doubt that Michael Graham was to pave a career in the entertainment industry. The foundations of his career were set at an early age where he discovered his love for performing arts and studied singing, dancing and acting with the noted Billy Barry Stage School. It was on The Gaiety stage that Mikey first made his acting, singing and dancing debut at the tender age of 7 and for the next five years tread the boards alongside such luminaries as Maureen Potter, Red Hurley and Twink. In 1993, at the age of 21 and working as a mechanic, Michael attended a boy band audition along with other unknowns Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch and so the band, Boyzone was formed under the watchful eye of manager, Louis Walsh. They had a meteoric rise to fame with Mikey, one of the band’s key songwriters, playing a pivotal role in the band’s success. The band went on to sell more than 10 million albums since 1993. They have also completed sell out tours all over the world and had 9 number one singles in Ireland. Alongside Boyzone fame, Mikey has also found the time to focus on another passion – acting. Michael was part of the television series, “Hollywood Trials”. As part of this fly-on-the-wall series, Michael was flown to Los Angeles where he lived for a month and studied under world-renowned acting and audition coach Margie Haber, who for the last 20 years has worked with rising stars and working actors in Hollywood, including Brad Pitt, Halle Berry, Vince Vaughn, Kristin Davis, Heather Locklear and many more. On his return to Ireland, he signed with the talent management agency, Julian Benson Management. Since then, Mikey has starred in two feature films, “Hey Mr. DJ” with Mike Reid and “50 Dead Men Walking” with Ben Kingsley. In 2010, Mikey was dubbed the ‘Ice Man’ on the hugely popular celebrity series, ‘Dancing On Ice’ where he wowed audiences with his dance partner Melanie Lambert. Before the dust even settles on panto, Mikey will be straight back to Boyzone for their 2011 ‘Brother’ tour. |
