ABOUT BARRY REAMONN

Certainly no stranger to DIY, Barry has 18 years of experience as a fitter in his family’s kitchen and wardrobe business, Award Bedrooms & Kitchens as well as renovating numerous properties. At the tender age of three, it was obvious that Barry would follow his father into the family business when he point blank refused to accept a gift of plastic toy tools, insisting instead on the real deal! At twelve years of age, his parents reluctantly gave in and now it’s a rare thing to find Barry without a pencil behind his ear and a measuring tape on his belt.

It was a combination of Barry’s sheer passion for everything DIY and his want to share that passion with the world that prompted City Channel to give him his own television show and in 2008, ‘House Fixer’ was born and received rave reviews.

It was Barry’s ease on camera and ability to make DIY achievable to everyone that caught the eye of SDL exhibitions and he was signed up to be come their resident DIY man at their profile Ideal Homes exhibitions.

Barry is now a regular contributor on RTE’s popular afternoon show, ‘Four Live’ with Maura Derrane.
